Selain Panjat tebing, renang, Sepak bola
dan beberapa cabang olahraga lainnya, tim bola basket Kabupaten sinjai
juga telah memastikan diri lolos pada porda, yang akan dihelat di
Kabupaten Bantaeng, September mendatang.
Keberhasilan tim bola basket sinjai ini,
tentu tidak lepas dari kerja keras yang dilakukan para atlit itu
sendiri serta pembinaan yang dilakukan selama beberapa bulan sebelumnya.
Dari 20 Kabupaten/kota yang ikut berlaga, namun yang berhasil lolos hanya 8 Kabupaten/kota saja, yakni Kota Makassar, Gowa, wajo, Bone, Sidrap, Pare-Pare, Sinjai dan tuan rumah bantaeng.
Tak hanya kategori putra, di kategori putri, sinjai juga berhasil meraih tiket diajang porda tersebut, bersama Kabupaten Gowa, Makassar, Luwu Utara, Tana Toraja, Pangkep dan Bantaeng.
Dengan hasil ini, maka tercatat ada 14 cabang olahraga yang akan diikuti Kabupaten sinjai pada porda 2014, termasuk pencak silat, tennis meja, tenis lapangan, balap motor, menembak, atletik, dayung, bulu tangkis, karate, dan Atlet National Paralympic Committee (NPC) atau penyandang cacat.

In addition to Rock climbing , swimming , football and some other sports , basketball team Sinjai district also has secured their escape on PORDA , which will be held in the District Bantaeng , September.
The success of this Sinjai basketball team , certainly not out of the hard work done by the athletes themselves and the coaching is done over the previous few months .
